Time to plant the garden. What?! You say you don't have room for a garden? Nonsense! Even you apartment dwellers can have a garden. All it takes is a little imagine. There are many ways to grow in small spaces. You can have hanging plants, towers, or just some pots on a shelf.

If you have a balcony or a porch you might try square foot gardening. It's a good way to get a lot of plants in a small place. Or do a wall garden- they are a little more work but the end product is awesome!

Try vertical gardening. If you can't go out, go up! Berries and cucumbers do well in towers! All of these methods work just as well indoors too, as long as they get plenty of sunlight. Use grow lamps if you don't get much sunlight indoors.

Time for Sneakers!

   

Well summers' here! This is the time to shed those winter boots and don some sneakers! Sneakers come in many types and styles. They also have many different uses. Some are used for sports like running and walking (we probably could stand to lose some of that winter fat)  or hiking.
     There are sneakers for casual wear, grudging, and even somewhat formal events!




     Sneakers are possibly the most comfortable foot wear ever! I don't know of anyone, young or old, who has never worn them. Most of us have an old pair that should be thrown out, but are just sooo comfortable. But if you are in the market for a new pair there are a few things to keep in mind;
     The type of sneaker you will want depends of your budget, what you will use them for, and your color preferences. You can also choose between laces and Velcro.
Be sure to wear your sneaker a few feet to check the fit and comfort before purchasing them. Choose comfortable, durable sneakers in a style you like.
    You want sneakers that are not stiff, fit well, and breath! You can get sneakers for about $15 to a couple of hundred of dollars. The more expensive ones will fit more comfortable and last much longer.

The Family That Hikes Together

It's been raining a lot the last couple of months. I really miss the sunshine. If you like the outdoors as much as I do (and I bet you do) you probably feel the same way! So I came across this photo on shutter stock of a family hiking together on a sunny day. It cheered me up so I thought you might like it too!

     I think the outdoors is for the whole family don't you?

I Love the Outdoors

Don't you just love the outdoors? I used to work outdoors (I'm retired now). And I must say “I do not believe there has been many days that I haven't been outdoors. Even at 65! There are always great things to do out doors! Doesn't matter what the weather, as long as you dress for it and come properly prepared you will have fun!

I am passionate about the outdoors! I like to get rather primitive at times. And I'll bet you do too! Hunting, fishing, swimming, camping,snowmobiles, the list of fun is endless!!

I like to write too. So I thought I'd write about the fun of the outdoors. Thus this blog! I don't know exactly how, but I want to share what I know so we can really enjoy the outdoors- all year around. I'll be posting everything I can to make the outdoors GREAT!
